Attended the luncheon hosted by NevBio & the CEO-CFO Group International for a delegation from Mongolia in Las Vegas for the Construction Expo. Bob Potter, CEO of Affordable Concepts, spoke at the luncheon. This was just one of the many international groups that come to Las Vegas for conventions. Nils Goldschmidt, owner of Terra Exports met a Mongolian that would help him import product into Mongolia. Bill Thompson, PhD met members of the delegation that want him to speak on Gaming in Mongolia. Dom and Anthony from Clark County Regional Center (EB5 Financing) met with two of the Mongolians to talk about investments. They also want to use Bob Potter's company, Affordable Concepts, for their next building. Robert Young, Chairman of the Asian Chamber of Commerce met members of the delegation to help him set up a business trip to Mongolia. These are some examples of how trade and networking can work in Las Vegas.
Attended the Las Vegas HEALS Medical Mixer which was well attended by a cross section of medical professionals and support industries of around 100. The Fizz is a beautiful and intimate location in Caesars. Brenda, Kasey and Tom were there from Roseman University. I had a great conversation with John Burke, CEO of Instep Recovery Services. He has moved his company to Las Vegas. His business is nationwide and provides a one stop shop for addiction problems. Bob Potter, CEO of Affordable Concepts and Chris Larson, Architect were also there. Gerd Peters was there from Kindred Healthcare as well as Cathy Delliponti from Foot, Ankle & Lower Leg Center and Kimberly Miles of TPC HR/Payroll among many others, were there.
Attended the Joe Brown Luncheon, formerly known at the 1st Wednesday Luncheon. Mark Hall-Patton from the Pawn Stars and the Clark Country Museum was the speaker at the Joe Brown Luncheon. Mark talked about the show and how no one predicted its success. The show has helped increased the attendance at the Clark County Museum by 60%. Numerous judicial candidates were in there (nearly hundred people). These are always great meetings.
Attended the UNLV College of Sciences/ School of Life Sciences lecture by Dr. Mohamed A Noor from Duke University who speak on Evolution at the Juanita Greer White Distinguished Lecturer Series & reception. Dr. Noor gave a lively talk to a packed audience of students, professors and the general public. In attendance were Ross Newman (Innovative Health Services), Ross Williams (Jalisco Cantina) and many others.
Attended First Friday which was lively as always, numerous gourmet food trucks. We ate great chicken tenders from Sin City Wings, a lobster roll from the lobster truck, and a Japanese Burrito from the Asian Fusion truck with stops to buy jewelry and drinks at Artifice, Park on Fremont, Inspire Theatre, Banger Brewing and the Gold Spike. Ran into Ranier Galgana (Foodie Festival) at the Spike.
