Networking in Las Vegas for the Week Ending March 15, 2014

Attended the LBG Advisors 2014 Symposium at the Bellagio for two and half days. Talks on self-funded medical plans, the drive for transparency in medical costs, pharmacy benefit managers, stop loss strategies, wellness programs & future of health care plans. Thanks to Ron Kirkpatrick, CEO and Matt Christensen for the invite.  
Attended the Green Chamber of Commerce Mixer. Marilyn Gillespie of the Natural History Museum was the speaker. Met a cross section of green businesses. The natural history museum has one of two copies in the world of King Tut's tomb and many other items including dinosaurs. The friendliest mixer in town. 
Attended the CEO-CFO Group luncheon which had over 40 attendees to hear a dynamic talk on managing your sales department. A number of business owners and executives attended the luncheon. This is a group that all executives should consider joining.
Attended the Southern Nevada Forum was held to discuss and vote on legislative priorities for Southern Nevada from economic development to education and transportation. The three hour meeting had members of the Las Vegas City Council, County Commission, Board of Regents and nearly all of the Southern Nevada's legislators.
Attended the BYU Management luncheon at which Brent Hathaway, Dean of the College of Business, spoke. Dr. Hathaway talked about leadership and the lessons he has learned from private industry and academia. UNLV and Las Vegas are fortunate to have a business dean with his leadership and vision.
